On behalf of the Parade Committee of the Old Shawnee Days Society, I would like to thank all of the participants that came out this year for the 44th annual Old Shawnee Days parade on Saturday. The weather cooperated once again and while this was one of our larger parade years, it concluded without a hitch. The success was due mainly to your understanding of the challenges our volunteers undertake each year to organize and run a complex event of this size. We’ll be sure to put you on our distribution list for an email invitation to the 45th annual Old Shawnee Days parade next year.

The Old Shawnee Day's Parade is one of the largest in the State of Kansas with awards given in several categories. The 2010 theme “Summer Days Start Here” conjures up warm days from the past, and fun times ahead.
The parade route begins at Nieman and Shawnee Mission Parkway, then moves north on Nieman to Johnson Drive where it heads west and ends at Cody in front of Old Shawnee Town.
Individuals and groups that are interested in joining the 2010 Old Shawnee Days Parade may still register on site, June 5 starting at 9 a.m. in Staging Area E located on Quivira by the cemetery.
