Shooting StarThrough the years, Shooting Star has endured industry not be able to go on. However, founding member and primary song writer Van McLain was the constant rock of the band that found a way to keep the fire burning and keep the band alive throughout the years. So after the passing of Van McLain in March of 2018, many believed this might of signaled the end of this legendary band. But the remaining band members were determined to continue on and to honor Van McLain and to keep his music alive. And, Van McLain's family expressed their full support for the band to reform and continue on. challenges, member changes and tough times. And there were even a few times when it seemed as if the band might

60's Explosion

Let’s go back 50 years to the year 1969. The theme was peace and love. The event was Woodstock. 60’s Explosion “A tribute to the bands of Woodstock,” recaptures this epic event for you. Hear and see the live reincarnations of Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, The Who, Santana, Sly & The Family Stone, and many more of the artists that made Woodstock the greatest concert of all time. 

The Rippers

They are Kansas City’s premier oldies band.  This highly energetic group of talented musicians plays a mix of classic 60’s songs from The Who to the Rolling Stones, the Kinks to the Monkees.  The audience will be singing along to all of the their favorite tunes. 

Travis Marvin

Travis, a Kansas native, has been rocking the region, gaining momentum by the minute with his passion for country music.


Hatch is an exciting country band playing songs from the George Strait days to current top of the chart hits!  Talented musicians with a smooth harmony!

Nichols & Millspaugh

A dynamic combination of harmonica and finger style/bottleneck slide guitar. Pat and Chris play the roots of blues we know today and touch on a variety of styles—Piedmont blues, delta blues, ragtime, hillbilly boogie—where they highlight the greats of the 20s and 30s. Blind Boy Fuller, Big Bill Broonzy, Robert Johnson, Sonny Terry and Brownie Mcghee and many others as well as some originals. Such well known songs as Good Morning Little School Girl and Key to the Highway may be followed up with some lesser known tunes like Ragged but Right, Hunky Tunky Blues or an instrumental highlighting their command of the instruments.  Hear stories of how the music came about and get a sense of the song, the artist and the times.  It’s always a good time!

Cowtown Country Club

Cowtown Country Club uses glittering four-part vocal harmonies, country and western sounds, and a special brand of countrified covers to create an unforgettable music experience for audiences.  They are quickly gaining a reputation for their signature style mixing classic sounds and irreverent musical fun in every song and every performance. 

Knock Kneed Sally

Original bluesy Americana, home based in the Midwest, has received many awards including – voted best Americana band in the Midwest in 2015, the “Best Blues Band” in Kansas in 2010 and KC International Blues Challenge in 2012.  Most recently their CD  Dog Tilted Head has been selected by the Kansas City Blues Society as the best self-produced CD of 2019.  

Old Fangled

This trio from Lawrence KS are music veterans of the last 20 years who perform a forthright cross section of American music including bluegrass, old time, honky-tonk and western swing.

Maria the Mexican

Today Maria Cuevas is lead vocalist and guitarist playing acoustic, electric and traditional Mexican stringed instruments for MARIA THE MEXICAN – a Mexicana/Americana/indie-blues rock/funk/soul fusion – a true hybrid of Mexican folklore and rock ‘n roll delivered in both English and Spanish.  

Shawnee Concert Band

This band consists of over 100 volunteer members of all ages.  They perform 6 or 7 concerts a year
